WALMART shoppers found an affordable heating gadget that keeps them warm without breaking the bank.

Winter weather is off to a strong start as temperatures drop across the country.

Rather than turn on the heat, some people are opting for Walmart's extra large, king-size heating pad.

Made by Equate, the heating pad measures 12 inches by 24 inches and has six heat settings for different levels of comfort.

It has a three-hour auto shut-off switch just in case the user gets too cozy and falls asleep while using it.

For just $19.98, the machine washable heating pad has been a hit with shoppers.

Walmart customers have called it "awesome" and rated it 3.9 out of five stars, with 778 perfect scores.

"The pad heats up fast and offers noticeable heat even on the lowest setting," wrote one person who rated it five stars.

"The cord is worth mentioning as it is long, and no need to move to a chair close to an outlet or take chances with an extension cord."
